Archival pigment print in aluminium frame. Edition of 60
Dimensions including frame 50 x 57 cm
This multiple was made at Glasgow Print Studio at the same time as Open Ground and Mudflats and was based on a painting by Rhodes with the same title (collection: Yale Center for British Art). The work began with experiments towards a colour-separation process such as silkscreen, but Rhodes moved increasingly towards a photographic digital print, making adjustments to the colour, tone and scale of the original painting. This process is in some ways analogous to that which Rhodes used to create her paintings – using photography, experimenting with scale and colour. The mounting and framing were also experimented with at length, and it is the complete physical object that constitutes the final edition.
